Excursus: Nazca in Utah? Naturally not, but ...
Ed Payne, an amateuer, discovered in Utah, USA, a large still
completely undated system of way lines with amlot of different mostly 70 – 120 m wide
marking signs. Some ways run parallel in narrow distance over several miles. Meanwhile it became obvious that at least most of them are only some decades old as a result from seismical measuring of the deeper bedrock. Some of them may be older.

The Utah semi desert: ancient erosion surfaces, pervaded by canyons
Here, ancient ways are marked by stars (in front besides of asphalt road, 194
m).
Way markings in scrubland: partly 6-line-groups, partly small clerarings (squares)
Complicated marks like this (100 m, foreground) accopany the way line here.
Mark of three concentrical circles (70 m) at a cross of old ways ending at the
steep slopes above the Green River Canyon
Parallel way lines (14 m dist.), marked with a double circle (77 m)
Way line with hexagon marks (110 m)
Preliminary distribution map of the Utah geoglyphs. The still recognizable way
markings are charted, whose number could be particularly increased compared to
Ed Paynes original finds, though much more might be no more visible. The red
marked lines indicate way lines which run parallel in narrow distance. Simple
way lines are omitted, because they cannot definitively be distinguished from
other ways and are frequently still used.
A whole system of way lines is marked here by 6-line-groups (ca. 80 m) and
4-line-groups (in the foreground).
Seen from the ground, this four lines mark can be overviewed only partially (arrows).
The extremely slow growing vegetation is missing there. A neighbouring mark is
superimposed.
